Privacy policy

AcctApp is designed so your data stays with you.

What is stored locally (never sent to AcctApp):

  • All accounting data - contacts, invoices, bills, journals, bank transactions, chart of accounts, company settings.
  • Application settings, user accounts and encrypted credentials (stored in %APPDATA%\AcctApp).

What is transmitted - only when you configure an integration:

  • Email (SMTP): invoice/document content you choose to send, via your own mail server.
  • eBay Connector: OAuth token exchanges with the eBay API to fetch your own transaction data.
  • Basiq (Open Banking): your API key/User ID to fetch your own bank feed transactions.
  • Payroll (KeyPay / Employment Hero): your API key to import your own payroll journals.
  • AI Monitor (optional): anonymised accounting metrics sent to the AI provider you choose, using your own API key.
  • Cloud Backup: an encrypted backup of your database to your own cloud storage via rclone.
  • Software Updates: a standard HTTPS request (no personal data) to check for new versions.
  • Currency Rates: a standard HTTPS request for rate data (no personal data).
  • Email Validation: domain name only (no email content) sent to a DNS resolver.

AcctApp collects no telemetry, crash reports or usage analytics. No accounting data is ever sent to AcctApp servers.
